Ok, it's official. I nominate that everyday should be a day of dancing, playing, and singing. It's amazing how much more productive you can be when you just let loose and have fun.
When I worked in the "corporate world", I recall a manager who would say, "Ok, you guys are having way too much fun" when she saw us salespeople joking around with each other. She really didn't want us to have fun! All it did was make us tense and not want to be at work.
Even some artists can become too serious about their work and forget to have fun. I understand that this can happen when your art has become the sole source of income. It's happened to me! If this sounds like you, I recommend that you step back and remember why you're doing this in the first place. Redefine who you are as an artist and reconnect with your mission and passions. Why do you do what you do? If it's solely for the money, then I recommend reading something I wrote awhile ago, Have Passion For Your Business.
I'm sure there are some of you who are saying, "What?!? I don't have time to dance, play, or sing!" To that I say: Is your happiness a priority? I'm sure if I were to sit down with you, I could find at least 10 spare minutes out of your day. So you miss 10 minutes out of that 2 hours of TV that you watch every night.
Are you dancing yet?
