Photography Bucket List: The Most Magical and Instagrammable Places in Paris

How could you not want to visit the city that's been dubbed "The City of Love"? For the past week I've spent hours watching runway shows from Paris Fashion Week, which has given me a serious case of wanderlust and the need to check on prices of flights to Paris.

As someone who loves to take pictures, my trip planning centers around places that are Instagram-worthy. I began my research and found the most magical-looking places to add to the bucket list...

1) Eiffel Tower

Well, duh. The Eiffel Tower is certainly on everyone's list of the most Instagrammable and magical places in Paris. It's been the setting of just about every Paris-based romantic scene in movie history. It's one of those monuments that I would probably just stare at all day and think, "Wow, I'm actually here."

2) Champs-Élysées

Taking a stroll down this iconic street would truly be magical - a cup of coffee in one hand and a chocolate macaroon in the other. If you follow me on Instagram, you know that I appreciate great architecture, so there would be a million pictures of the Arc de Triomphe involved on this trip.

3) Louvre Pyramid

Another architectural masterpiece, the Louvre Pyramid has become a staple in the Instagram feeds of Paris visitors. As lovers of all things art, it would be very remiss of us to forego a visit to the largest art museum in the world.

4) A. Lacroix Pattisier

You didn't think I would skip over pic-worthy food, did you? An Internet search for the best cafe in Paris returned a multitude of 5-star reviews for A. Lacroix, which is best known for its creative desserts that look more like works of art. True foodies including myself would probably consider this place "magical".

5) Jardin du Palais-Royal

Any place with the word "garden" in it deserves a top spot on my list of places to visit. A nature lover never gets tired of taking photos of flowers and tress. According to The Points Guy, this garden has many spots including art galleries and cafes for a complete immersion into French culture.

6) Palais Garnier

This opera theater houses awe-inspiring murals and boasts some of the most ornate architecture. The decorative eye candy most likely elicits countless "oohs" and "ahhhhs" from every visitor. There is even a Library-Museum with a permanent collection of paintings, drawings, photographs, and set models.

7) Notre Dame

The architecture and stained glass windows of this historic cathedral will inspire a multitude of creative photographs. Admission is free and audio tour guides are available to learn more about the cathedral.

8) Place du Concorde

I am fascinated with the Obelisk of Luxor, which was shipped to France from Egypt back in 1833. If you really think about it, that's a monumental accomplishment to transport a 250 ton piece of granite on a ship regardless of what year it was done. Its home at the Place du Concorde is also the home to two famous fountains and a whole host of memories from the French Revolution.

9) Moulin Rouge

Photos are not allowed inside the theatre, but the outside offers plenty of photo opportunities, especially at night.

I'm sure there are plenty of other notable Instagrammable places in Paris, so let me know if there's a place that I should add to this list - especially if it's off the beaten path.

Where to Stay

I thank all of my favorite bloggers for enticing me to add this hotel to the bucket list of hotels to visit in my lifetime. Hotel Plaza Athenee has a perfect view of the Eiffel Tower and I hear the croissants are magnifique!
